- Conduct periodic reviews of the entire certification process to identify and mitigate potential conflicts of interest.
- Provide technical input on policies that could affect the objectivity and confidentiality of conformity assessments.
- Have the authority to respond to stakeholder complaints regarding impartiality issues not resolved by management.
- Audit interactions between commercial and technical functions to ensure there is no financial pressure in certification decision-making.
- Consisting of significant external representatives (such as customers, industry associations, technical experts, or regulators) to ensure a balance of interests.
- In-depth understanding of the ISO/IEC 17021-1 standard or other relevant accreditation standards regarding impartiality requirements.
- Possess a very strong ethical commitment and is independent of day-to-day operational entanglements with TNVID.
- Able to provide objective assessments of risks arising from business relationships or company personnel.
Scope of Duties & Authority: The Impartiality Committee serves as an independent oversight mechanism that ensures that every TNVID certification decision is made solely based on objective evidence. Its scope of duties includes oversight of risks arising from the company’s ownership, governance, management, personnel, or finances. The committee is authorized to review audit reports and challenge management decisions if they indicate bias or unfairness. Through its role, the committee serves as a guarantor to accreditation bodies and the public that TNVID operates a transparent, fair, and equitable conformity assessment system for all clients.
